Position Description: 

Primary responsibilities include administration, coordination, and training of corporate, field management & drivers related to the installation and use of mobile communication and safety devises that are purchased, installed, and maintained at field operations across North America. Assume ownership of mobile fleet /driver communication & safety devises that our deployed to the field. Responsible for end to end life cycle administration and associated record keeping

Essential Functions:

  • Administration and oversite of driver safety and communication devises. These may include mobile phones, mobile tables, in-cab telematics & camera’s as well as other devises that may be purchased to assure driver safety and communication required for safe operation.
  • Provide corporate overview, site specific training, and associated record keeping related to the devises deployed for field operation.
  • Maintain a complete and accurate record related to all mobile devises that are deployed in the field.
  • Daily communication and operational management with third party vendors who manufacture, own, or assist in the installation and de-installation of devises
  • Schedule installation and de-installation of all mobile communication and safety components that are deployed to our field operations with our third party vendors and accurate record keeping to manage these relationships.
  • Manage complete lifecycle of the devises including asset tracking and end of life disposal.
  • Serve as primary point of daily contact for field operations related to mobile devise questions and trouble shooting. 
  • Provide proactive oversight and create, revise, implement, and support transportation policies, procedures, and cost reduction initiatives. Ensure transportation policies continue to reflect current regulatory requirements and Perform data and program assessment reviews and develop / triage program initiatives to improve performance. 
  • Perform internal audits to track and trace deployed assets.
  • Perform data and program assessment reviews and develop / triage program initiatives to improve performance.  Perform internal policy and regulatory (local, state, and federal) compliance audits
  • Weekly and monthly report preparation and dissemination for informational transfer to the field
  • Create highly refined and effective corporate level work products such as procedures, training presentations, compliance assessments, tools, etc. for distribution to sites nationwide
  • Develop training / communication tools and other associated site training resources, and perform training activities to affected level of organization
  • Administration, training, and field/driver support related to use of electronic log books in vehicles and the use and monitoring of the ELD tools, including computerized log book review and correction by Distribution Center Supervision.  
  • Assists the Transportation team in the development, coordination, presentation, and documentation of employee training programs consistent with federal, state, and local regulations associated with the operation and maintenance of mobile communication and safety devises in DOT regulated vehicles

  • High School Diploma required, Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Basic knowledge of FMCSA, DOT, 49 CFR, and state regulations governing driver and fleet requirements
  • Experience coordinating and implementing transportation compliance processes.  Experience with distribution center / delivery type environment, and electronic logging software and onboard telematics safety tools preferred.
  • Maintain an effective balance of technical writing and creativity / communication to create highly refined work products for nationwide facility use / implementation
  • Ability to effectively interact and communicate at all levels of the organization
  • Proficient with modern Microsoft Windows Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook email

    • Scheduled - Approximately 30-40% via car / air throughout United States and International, with stayover
    • Unscheduled/Emergency – Infrequently / as needed to support emergency situations
