Position Description: 

• The Manager of Business Intelligence will play a leading role in implementing analytically intensive solutions designed to improve the success of ATD’s B2B website, TireBuyer’s B2C website and programs, and improving the overall conversion rate for both sites.
• Accountable for the quality, accuracy, and adoption of the analytical solutions the eCommerce, Product Management, Marketing and Executive Leadership teams develop.
• Will play a key role in implementing analytical and financial solutions for company-wide, business-critical problems.
• Work with senior leadership to develop 1-3 year and Annual Operating Plans, and financial forecasts.
• Interfacing with business customers and key business partners across the ATD enterprise, gathering requirements and delivering complete reporting and analysis solutions.
• Have a full understanding and empathy for business objectives, and continually align their work with those objectives and seek to deliver business value.
• Analyze and solve business problems at their root, understand the broader context, and develop solutions that utilize the highest standards of analytical rigor and data integrity.
• Help design, develop, and maintain ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. to help drive key business decisions at the executive level.
• Recognize and adopt best practices in reporting and analysis: data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation.
• Use data mining, model building, and other analytical techniques to develop and maintain customer segmentation and predictive models to drive the business.
• Perform continuous channel profitability and financial analysis (e.g. sales volume, margin, customer retention, and return on investment).
• Serve as a point of contact with ATD’s B2B group, ATD’s accounting and financial teams.
• Develop comprehensive economic (P&L) models to aid in key decision making and evaluation of initiatives.
• Construct executive-level presentations and present complex findings.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop trusted relationships with cross-functional business owners to understand objectives of their business processes, goals, key problems and opportunities to capture customer information and use it to help drive business decisions.
  • Monitor market and competitive intelligence, perform analysis and leverage conclusions to improve product/services client satisfaction and overall business results.
  • Author business requirements documents to articulate business unit initiatives, customer needs, competitive feature gaps, business cases and required metrics.
  • Work on multiple projects, both small and large, with various business owners.
  • Controllership of monthly financial reporting.
  • Support sales and marketing efforts as needed to aid in execution of roadmaps, value propositions, feature/benefits, FAQs, win/loss analysis, market analysis, RFP/RFI completion, education, conference/exhibition efforts and demonstration tools.
  • Extensive work on various data sources within ATD; Oracle, Web-Analytics tools (Omniture, Google Analytics, etc.).
  • Work cross functionally to drive the implementation of new products and features, as well as help drive the day-to-day operations of ATD’s websites to maximize sales/revenue.
  • Have a full understanding of the appropriate metrics and key performance indicators to measure and monitor performance to goals. 
  • Participate in meetings with business leaders to establish priorities, communicate process & progress of current projects, sales performance, and discuss analysis findings.
  • Leading and participating as the key finance and BI stakeholder in cross functional teams.

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You: 

  • Education:  Required – Bachelor’s degree in Math, Statistics, Finance, Economics or related discipline.  
  • Experience:  
    • 5+ years of professional experience in web analytics, and business analysis in the eCommerce industry.
    • 5+ years of experience working with online analytical tools (i.e. Omniture, Google Analytics) for a large Fortune 500 company.
    • 3+ years relational database and SQL skills in Oracle, SQL Server
    • 3+ years of experience in designing, delivering, and managing large custom reporting systems.
    • 3+ years of experience with financial modeling, P&L reporting, and business planning
    • 5+ years of advanced Excel experience.

  • Need to be comfortable rolling up their sleeves with data, spreadsheets, and models.  This person will thrive on the challenges inherent in dissecting complex problems, utilizing facts/data to derive a conclusion and delivering clear recommendations to improve our online results
  • Must have the ability to extract the big picture through data and economic modeling and analysis, and formulate robust viewpoints.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and listening skills with the ability to present complex data/economic information clearly and concisely to varying audiences
  • Must be someone who is detail-oriented, and can deliver projects within tight timelines.
  • Advanced-Expert level proficiency in MS-Excel is a must.
  • Demonstrable intermediate- to-advanced level proficiency in MS-Office including MS-Word, and MS-PowerPoint, with strong technology industry background in software, hardware and networking environments.
  • Strong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done.

  • Travel required:  10+% of the time, travel throughout the U.S. and may require overnight stays.
