Position Description: 

The Payroll Administrator is responsible for the entire payroll function from time entry to net pay calculations including distribution of checks to employees, performs all computations and preparation related to the production of a weekly and bi-weekly payroll and payment of all commissions and spiffs. Facilitates all issues arising from payroll processing with affected employee, management of the weekly and bi-weekly payroll process, responsible for the reconciliation process of the weekly and bi-weekly payroll, assists in responsibility for the monthly processing of commissions and spiff, interact with employees and managers to answer questions, handle requests and resolve issues, assist with Ceridian payroll system maintenance, set up new workgroups and assign time cards for new departments/employees coming on the Ceridian Time & Attendance System, assists in Year-End Processing, key person responsible for time entry in dept/D.C., Ceridian T&A and additional payments to employees, maintenance of and analysis of any additional customization needs on payroll system.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Management of the weekly and bi-weekly payroll process
  • Responsible for the reconciliation process of the weekly and bi-weekly payroll
  • Assists in responsibility for the monthly processing of commissions and spiff
  • Interact with employees and managers to answer questions, handle requests and resolve issues
  • Assist with Ceridian payroll system maintenance
  • Set up new workgroups and assign time cards for new departments/employees coming on the Ceridian Time & Attendance System
  • Assists in Year-End Processing
  • Key person responsible for time entry in department/D.C., Ceridian T&A
  • Additional payments to employees
  • Maintenance of and analysis of any additional customization needs on payroll system
  • Collect, analyze, edit, key punch data.
  • Punctual communication
  • Review, analyze, and distribute all relative data.
  • Data collection, manipulations
  • Verbal and written communication with:  employees, managers, xtate and federal agencies, banking company, Ceridian, various members of the accounting department.

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You:                                  

  • EducationMinimum: High School
  • Experience:  Minimum required:  Three years of full payroll experience in a company with greater than 750 employees.  Preferred Level:  3-7 years of managing the payroll process
  • Minimum Required:  Knowledge of a payroll system as created by a Ceridian or ADP supplier or Workday.  Use of Microsoft Office products necessary, preferred level:  5-7 years of experience with a payroll system, preferably Ceridian or ADP platforms.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the company, in its discretion, may find appropriate and acceptable.

  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
