Position Description: 

Reporting to the Head of Treasury & Investor Relations, the Financial Risk Management Director is an integral member of the Finance Team, pivotal in the management of financial risk management including capital markets exposures and insurance. Responsibilities include setting strategic direction and leading the continuous improvement of capital and treasury risk management priorities, programs, models and methods. Leveraging that analysis to optimize and manage financial instruments to drive stability in financial performance using natural hedging, capital market instruments, insurance and treasury risk management techniques. The Capital Markets Analyst maximizes opportunity and minimizes risk related to cash, capital, credit, foreign exchange and interest rate fluctuations and insurance through development of, commitment to, and quality execution against treasury risk management processes. The Financial Risk Management Director maximizes opportunity and minimizes risk related to cash, capital, credit, foreign exchange and interest rate fluctuations and insurance through leadership on strategic capital and treasury risk management decisions and continuous improvement to solutions, programs and processes.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Risk Management

  • Establish and maintain financial risk management governance regarding capital markets exposure to minimize volatility in financial performance.
  • Develop a structure to monitor financial risk exposure and leading indicators of financial volatility to support and create relevant reporting on executive and Board dashboards.   
  • Develop policies and KPIs related to financial risks and develop and monitor trigger thresholds on those KPIs.
  • Update the Enterprise Risk Management Steering Committee and Board of Directors insight by providing relevant information regarding financial risk management strategies and exposures.
  • Continuously evaluate current risk management strategies for ongoing effectiveness and changes in the macroeconomic environment.
  • Evaluate potential risk management and insurance solutions, develop strategic partnerships with bankers/strategic partners, and execute those solutions.
  • Complete balance sheet and cash flow stress testing.
  • Provide compliance and accounting support for capital markets and insurance solutions.
  • Drive senior leadership education sessions to drive better business decisions and natural hedges.
  • Develop and maintain insurance and reinsurance coverage strategy.
  • Identify insurance issues and resolve reporting and compliance issues in a timely manner.
  • Support debt and equity investor management including preparation for road shows and one-on-one meetings.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Finance Analyst and Corporate Finance Manager to support the Investor Relations Manager and Head of Treasury & Investor Relations with preparation for earnings calls and annual investor presentations.
  • Establish and be a critical driver and stakeholder in the executive disclosure committee.
  • Participate in ongoing daily surveillance of market and industry events, industry trends, and macroeconomic trends. 
  • Provide market intelligence insight into forecasting.
  • Develop management reports on key market evolutions in partnership with Strategy, Finance, and the Business.

Process Improvement Management

  • Identify and assist in streamlining areas of improvement and document all procedures.

Qualifications

Required

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree (Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field)
  • Experience: 8 years related work experience in treasury, banking, finance, or risk management

Preferred

  • Education: Masters of Business Administration
  • Experience: 5 years of experience in Treasury with experiencing natural hedging, capital markets hedging, and insurance strategies
  • Certifications: CTP (Certified Treasury Professional) or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst)
