Position Description: 

The Distribution Center (DC) Supervisor monitors and effectively oversees and supervises the daily routines and specific tasks of assigned shifts and employees, as instructed by the Distribution Excellence Manager (DEM). The DC Supervisor manages 8 to 15 employees and provides back-up support for the DEM, including ensuring the Center meets and integrates with Company’s requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal requirements, environmental policies and general care of duty. Coordinates all assigned warehousing activities with management and administration. Champions safe working conditions and monitors employees to ensure safe operation of equipment within the warehouse.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees and supervises the day-to-day activities and specific tasks of assigned shifts and 8 to 15 employees, as instructed by the DEM. 
  • Evaluates the performance of team members.
  • Provides back-up support for the DEM, including ensuring the Center meets and integrates with Company’s requirements for quality management, health and safety, legal requirements, environmental policies and general care of duty.
  • Supports and directs operations, administration, and distribution functions for the Center either personally or through the activities of the Center’s employees, as instructed by the DEM.
  • Supervises and records, either by manual or automated inventory control system, the receipt, storage and distribution of equipment, supplies and specialty items in centralized warehouse operation.
  • Supervises maintenance of facilities, product handling equipment and inventory warehousing control systems, manual or automated.
  • Coordinates all assigned warehousing activities with management and administration.
  • Champions safe working conditions and monitors employees to ensure safe operation of equipment within the warehouse.

Experience(s) that Best Prepares You: 

  • Education:  Minimum High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience:  Computer literacy is required.  Previous supervisory experience (direct supervision of employees); experience in the receipt, storage or distribution of supplies or equipment preferred.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the company, in its discretion, may find appropriate and acceptable.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

  • Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Travel required:  5% of the time, travel throughout the geographic area within the assigned region and will require overnight stays.  Travel to the Field Support Center and other destinations will be required.
