Position Description: 

The Operations Systems Specialist position provides operational support for all Greenfield, mergers and acquisitions, and warehouse relocation activities as well as being called upon to assist in Continuous Improvement initiatives. The OSS works under the direction of the Director of Operations Projects and in coordination with other members of the operations department to provide analytical support of projects focused on the development and implementation of standard Operating Procedures, with the goal of reducing operating expense while enhancing customer service.



Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and training of all branch operations systems
  • Provide liaison capabilities from Field Operations to Huntersville/IT and back
  • Provide Project support and feedback, escalate all risk issues to Senior Management as necessary, provide analysis of branch operations Key Performance Indicators
  • Provide off-hour support as needed, ongoing and accurate maintenance of information and data pertinent to Business, has met expectations of internal and external customers, and establishes/maintains relationships, successive increase in KPI measurable areas across DC’s

  • VP Operations, Regional Supply Chain Director, Sr Director of Last Mile Delivery
  • General Manager, Distribution Excellence Manager
  • Business Analyst, IT Developers                              


Requirements

  • Education:  Minimum required BSBA – preferred BSBA or logistics degree
  • Experience: 1 -2 years’ experience working in a warehousing & distribution environment  Key understanding of supply chain, distribution, warehousing, transportation and inventory, basic understanding of P&L statements and OPEX costing structures. Demonstrated people skills including influencing skills, listening and the ability to communicate effectively to diverse groups.

Physical Demands/Work Environment/Travel Requirements:

  • Physical demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk, hear, taste and/or smell; the employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Work environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Travel required: 60+% of the time, travel throughout the U.S. and may require overnight stays.
